Founded in 2026 by Sikh Punjabi doctor, actor and playwright Roopak K. Khara, r-wave Productions was created to bridge a space too often left unoccupied: a platform for professional women who feel a profound need to contribute to the cultural narratives that shape their communities and identities.
In an electrocardiogram, the R wave is the first strong upward deflection of the electrical impulse that sustains the heartbeat and signifies life itself. As the tallest and most prominent wave in a normal ECG, it represents vitality and unity — a metaphor for the moments where our heart skips a beat.

Her inaugural production, An Unholy Alchemy, an immersive theatre piece unravelling the Mental Health Act in real time, premieres at the Camden Fringe in August 2026.
